For once i agree.

As a young man i have all ways had big plans in my life to travel the world, build my own home and furnish it with the best made fittings and furnishings that i would make my self, but life has a habit of changing the course of what you think you would like to achieve so after finding out Laura was pregnant  well over 39 months ago and having to move into a family home that is rented it became apparent that my little dreams may have had a change of direction.
with friends and family all over the world who i would like to visit or work with it had all ways been a plan for when my little man become a little older that i would may be have the finance and time to travel and work around the world, and the plan kinda involved just me sounds very selfish and immature of me to do this with a young mum and child left at home fending for them selves and you would be right it,it is.

but there is one thing i never thought of when Laura was pregnant is how attached i would become to this little cheeky boy, sounds strange to say that but something very primeval came over me as soon as Leo was born.. the need to protect him and the feelings of missing this little person when i have been away with.... now It has all ways been known that a certain mummy would all ways be wanting to add another addition to the family and i am not talking about another cat, which had been an issue with me as my plans of travelling and owning and building my own home dont have the room and finance for another addition to the family until conversation with the savvy other half over a few drinks led to an idea that could work,

being a young parent as i think i am has its benefits and all so its disadvantages the one benefit i have been told again and again is that having Leo at the age of 21 means when he turns 20 and hopefully becoming an interdependent man i will be at the age of 41 with my youth and fitness pretty much still there, with may be the added benefits of being in a much stronger financial position, and as Laura has put it to me why dont we give leo a brother or sister with in the next couple of years and by the time the pair of them are in there late teens or early 20s i will still be a man in his 40s and from what i have seen of my father being in yours 40s isnt a bad thing.
Allso a very quick witted person pointed out that it hasn't been difficult for me to which I agreed "yer it's been easier than I imagined" so why not?
so with my self being stuborn and selfish, i believe a compromise, i can still manage part of a dream/joint dreams that would also secure a strong and secure family.
Life has a happy habit of of throwing curve balls how ever I am learning to catch those curves and embrace all of it!!

Never look back with a negative few ... Just keep moving... Just keep moving and step Into the future happy with what you have achieved.

I Didn't Eat it!!!

What is it with people!?

Especially the other half, so a certain some one got them self's a new cooking gadget and has been obsessed with it since I picked it from the outlaws!!

I'd like to say that I enjoy my food a lot but I am not a fatty I also enjoy the gym so that mince pie(s) I had to day at work will get cancelled out when I go to the gym!!(how female was that!!)

So blessed Laura has been baking with her new gadget, choc chip cookies that are all right but I think they could of done with a few more minutes in the oven!! but what do i know!

Flap jacks which in turn were pretty dam good, so as I returned home last night from the gym to be treated to a fresh batch of flap jacks which the words were" you can have one now and one later after dinner" (hang on a minute are you my Mrs or my mum!!) so I was treated to a flap jack which was excellent nice and chewy but not like chewing fat and a slight crunch... perfect!!

The night soon drew in and it was time to hit the sack!(Bed) and as I awoke at the crack of dawn.. changed into my work clothes and got my lunch ready I thought that I will grab a couple of flap jacks to take to work just two...I then return from work to be accused of eating them all!?

With the age old answer of it was not me i'm then lectured that she didn't eat them and Leo may be some how grew to 6ft opened the cupboard and took them him self!! What am I meant to say to that?!

In reality I don't really care as we know Laura is a secret chomper and that she ate them but as a gentlemen I will stand proud and tall and take the cakey bullet for my other half!!

Why is it as a man who loves food I get accused 1st when the phantom chomper has been about!?

Well That Was Quick!

So it has been six months since my first blog post!

I guess really I haven't had the time to get around too writing,
the first blog i wrote was written literally in the middle of an abandoned castle that I had spent 3 months refurbishing with a new kitchen, windows, doors and furniture as soon as that was finished it was then another 2 months doing the same at a Warren house!

It's actually been a hectic 6 months with Laura, Leo and my self moving into our new home!

This has been something I have all ways wanted for us as I felt living at the in(out) laws was not sitting well with me.

I have always seen my self as an independent person since a young age, doing things my way suits me to the ground and I guess I am selfish at times and put up a good fight if I think I am right until I get proven wrong.

It was a huge relief when we found a lovely little 2 bed home with a double garage, so we put our names down for our potential home!

It's such a relief to be in our own home.

I can now walk around in my pants with no mother in laws to be startled, I have my own garage in which I can tinker away on my bikes!! It's nice to come home and relax and do what I want to do!

Is it me or is it stressful trying to live under some one else roof?

Any way I'm looking forward to the new year as work is going well, I have my own home with my family and I have decided to take the next step from furniture making and joinery to architecture!

I promise to keep the posts coming!!

What plans have you got for the new year... and is there any one that loves living with the in laws by any chance??

To Blog or not to Blog!?

I Bet you are just as impressed with that tittle as I was when I first thought of it...(to be honest took me a while to think of it...)

So for some reason you have landed your self on my blog, so like a real gentleman I had better give you an idea of what to expect...(A bit like a TV schedule... but with out the times and the dates and also the little "i" button that gives you a small read out of the information...)

For the past few days it has been the question that I have asking my self and also a question I have been asked by what I can only describe as a little blonde blogget, with too much time on her hands!!! (Hey Laura x),

To be brutally honest I thought this whole bloggin' crap ( you don't mind if I swear do you??) was just a ploy for mothers (who should be doing house work!!!) to get free things from companies and then rave how good they are, when really its just some piece of rubbish some bloke has made in his shed, or just mainly to meet up drink tea and bitch!! (that's going to raise a few eye brows!) but I kind of see the point in doing it.

Like I said it's not my tea or biscuit.... so after a few days/weeks of being asked to do it I had a brain wave... I would like to write a so called blog but write it as a diary illustrating all my thoughts and feelings about life, work, and of course being a brand new sparkly all wrapped up in shiny paper....FATHER!!!  (god that was deep!)... So of course I am a father, which you probably figured out all by your selves, due to the photos of me kissing a child (which of course is my child!!!.... I mean why would I want to kiss some one else's??)

I am sure there will be plenty of posts by me ....( wait I'm really sorry but I'm currently watching "One Born Every Minute" and the mother has gone through labour and the father was at home asleep with his phone off...what a legend that bloke is!!!... for all the wrong reasons I might add.... who does that?? Your Mrs is 9 months pregnant , you should really keep your phone on all the time you bumder!)

Right sorry about that, back to the bit about being a Father... Oh yes there will be plenty of posts about becoming a Father, where you will realise I was completely un-prepared for that level of responsibilty in those early days.

I will be treating The Daddy Rat Diaries as diary, so expect many random posts about motor cross bikes, Father Hood, money, girls (hey again Laura) general rants and wood burning aga's (wtf is an Aga?).

I think this will do as it is closing in on midnight and I am currently freezing my back side off in a middle of a castle, and my imagination of ware wolves and bumps in the night are getting the better of me... So I  am off to retreat into the safety of my sleeping bag, which just so happens to be ware wolf proof as well as bullet proof (bet you wish you had one of those!!).

Yours Sincerely
Daddy Rat!!
